Negarin (close friends referred to her as "Negar") died unexpectedly at her apartment in Portland OR
at the beginning of June 2009, with the exact date of her passing yet to be determined. She was
only 37 years young. She graduated from Somayeh High School in 1989, moved to the United States and
graduated from Portland State in 1998. This lady was the sweetest person you would ever meet with a
heart of gold. Her warm smile delighted patients and staff at OHSU each and every day. She was a
Health Unit Coordinator at OHSU on the Mother-Baby Unit for over 10 years. Negarin was an amazing
listener and caring friend. She was very artistic and extremely bright. Her feelings were often
expressed in beautiful paintings and poetry. She will be dearly missed by all of her family, fellow
co-workers, friends both here in the United States and abroad. She has touched the lives of so many
people. May you fly with the angels and rest in peace.

I Will Miss Negarin . . .

I worked with Negarin since coming to OHSU in June 2005. She was a lovely, open person who strive to to do her job to the best of her capiblities & was always willing to share her knowledge with others. My family would like to share our deepest sympathies & condolences with your family. I know that there is nothing which anyone can say or do to lessen the pain which your family feels now, please know that she was loved and appreicated by many and will be deeply missed.

Sweet Negarin

Dearest Negarin, I can't get over your absence. Just yesterday, it seems, you were hugging me and wishing me luck in my new job. I was sorry to leave you; your sense of humor, your loving friendship, meant so much to me! I remember when I was a new nurse; I learned a lot from you. I remember you holding the babies against your chest and crooning to them at night--you were so loving. The world is a grayer place without your bright outlook. I will miss you so much...at last you are free to soar.

Love

Love means to understand the ways of oneself by learning to accept and love others so that she may glow with healing light. Glow on sister. We will meet again dear friend.
